Founded in the early 2000s by U.S. Navy veteran William "Bill" Schmidt, Wesco Machine Company had been serving the heavy equipment industry with expert fabrication and repair services for over two decades. Today, we continue Bill's legacy of quality craftsmanship and dependable service from our 20,000 square foot facility in Weldon Spring, Missouri.
Our Story
William "Bill" Schmidt founded Wesco Machine Company in the early 2000s after serving in the U.S. Navy, bringing military discipline and precision to the heavy equipment fabrication industry. Bill was an active member of his community, serving with the Mizpah-Mount Moria Lodge AF & AM, Scottish Rite, and Moolah Temple, and he built the company on principles of quality craftsmanship and reliable service.
By 2010, Bill relocated the operation to our current facility in Weldon Spring, expanding capabilities and strengthening relationships with excavation and construction contractors throughout the region. Under his leadership, Wesco became known for tackling the toughest fabrication and repair challenges in the heavy equipment industry. Following Bill's death in July 2013, the company remained in the family, with the business continuing until its acquisition by Wesco Machine Works, LLC in November 2021, marking a return to the core values Bill had established.
Since then, we've refined our focus to specialize in construction and dirt work equipment, investing in advanced capabilities and streamlining our operations to better serve contractors who depend on us.
Today's Wesco combines over two decades of industry expertise with modern equipment needs and a renewed commitment to the quality and work ethic that Bill Schmidt established from day one.
